Islamabad ranks 83rd globally in public safety
world
According to Dawn, Islamabad placed eighty‑third out of four hundred one cities in the latest global safety index, edging out capitals such as London, Moscow and Toronto. The capital’s police force boasted a one‑hundred percent detection rate for homicides this year, and property crimes fell twenty‑seven percent, with roughly one thousand four hundred ninety‑nine fewer incidents than the previous year. New specialised units—including a SWAT team, a Delta Force counter‑terrorism squad, a mounted Margalla Trail patrol and a K‑nine explosives unit—were launched, while the Safe City system received AI‑driven analytics and virtual patrolling tools. Police also opened an online women’s station and upgraded diplomatic precinct services, aiming to keep the city’s growing international profile secure.
