The U.S. Supreme Court today struck down limits on how much political parties can spend in support of their candidates. The case, brought by Republican groups including JD Vance, challenged the Federal Election Commission's caps on coordinated party expenditures. The ruling removes what observers call one of the last major barriers to unlimited campaign spending. According to The Guardian, the original lawsuit was filed in twenty twenty-two.
