Analog Optical Feedback Generates 4K Fractals With No Computer

Hackaday reports on an artist known as The Light Herder, who has built a 4K fractal generator using analog video feedback — no computer in the traditional sense. The setup points a camera at a screen showing its own feed, and to control the image, analog knobs feed into a Teensy microcontroller that talks to LCD driver boards over RS-232. The artist previously made a 720p version and a sculpture called God Machine II, and this new build pushes the vintage technique into modern resolution.
