Oceans have gotten about 34% more acidic since before the Industrial Revolution

Yale Climate Connections reports that oceans are about thirty-four percent more acidic than they were before the industrial revolution. This heightened acidity makes it harder for corals to grow and for oysters and clams to form shells. The change highlights the expanding impact of human activity on marine ecosystems.
