‘He isn’t political’: the Ukrainian-born oligarch targeted by a Monaco bomber
world
A parcel bomb has targeted Vadym Iermolaiev, a Ukrainian-born oligarch with a personal fortune of two hundred twenty-five million dollars, in Monaco. The device was left outside an apartment building in a quiet hillside neighborhood Monday evening. When Iermolaiev emerged with his wife and their thirteen-year-old child, it detonated. Security cameras captured the suspect—in a black jacket and bucket hat—fleeing toward the French border town of Beausoleil. The motive remains unclear. According to The Guardian, significant questions persist about why someone would target the businessman.
