Payson Grotto in Payson, Utah

Payson Grotto, featured on Atlas Obscura, is a waterfall and pool in Utah's Payson area. A short, easy hike leads visitors to Grotto Falls, where a small waterfall feeds a shallow wading pool. Summer is ideal for swimming, though the water remains cold year-round. The canyon is also worth visiting in fall, when trees turn shades of gold, orange, and red. Hikers can extend their visit by climbing to the top of the waterfall.
