Everest's most famous body finally has a name

world

For nearly thirty years, climbers on Mount Everest's north side have passed a body they called 'Green Boots,' using a fallen person as a landmark rather than mourning a tragedy. The climber has now been identified as Tsewang Paljor, according to Boing Boing—one of three Indian mountaineers who died in a nineteen ninety-six storm on the mountain. His name, finally spoken, restores dignity to a young man whose remains had gone unnamed for three decades.
