Researchers at the University of Osaka have developed a catalyst that converts carbon dioxide into carbon monoxide nearly five times faster when subjected to ultrasonic vibration, per Phys.org. The catalyst pairs barium titanate with a metal-organic framework coating that concentrates CO2 near the surface, with isolated copper atoms serving as the reaction sites. Carbon monoxide is an important chemical feedstock, which is what makes the conversion significant.
