tech
NASA Science reports that the Airspace Technology Demonstration two project, a collaborative effort with the Federal Aviation Administration, airlines, airports and the general aviation community, tested an integrated suite of tools to coordinate arrivals, departures and surface operations in a densely populated metro area. The Airspace Operations Laboratory evaluated the airspace concepts and human‑factor implications from an operational perspective, seeking to improve predictability and efficiency of the national air traffic system. In recognition of its contributions, the roughly one hundred fifty‑member team earned ATD‑two a runner‑up spot for the twenty twenty‑one NASA Software of the Year award.
