US supreme court agrees to hear challenges to assault-weapons bans

The United States Supreme Court has agreed to hear legal challenges to assault weapons bans. According to The Guardian, the justices said Tuesday they will hear appeals questioning whether restrictions on semi-automatic rifles, including the AR-15, violate Second Amendment protections. The cases involve Connecticut and the Chicago area.
