world
According to preliminary satellite analysis reported by the Guardian, Venezuela's twin earthquakes from last Wednesday caused far more destruction than official estimates suggested. Satellite data indicates more than fifty-eight thousand buildings may have been damaged or destroyed in the magnitude seven point two and seven point five quakes. The death toll has reached one thousand nine hundred forty-three, with more than ten thousand injured and tens of thousands still missing in the rubble. The UN estimates up to six point eight million people will require urgent shelter, water, sanitation, healthcare, and relief supplies.
