Neon Closing in on Luca Guadagnino’s Sam Altman Open AI Movie ‘Artificial’ After Amazon Drops Controversial Film

Filmmaker Luca Guadagnino's biographical film about OpenAI's Sam Altman is getting a new home. According to Variety, the independent distributor Neon is closing in on a deal to acquire "Artificial," a nearly completed production that cost forty million dollars to make. Andrew Garfield plays Altman during the turbulent period when he was fired and then rehired by the AI company. Amazon MGM Studios is stepping back from the project, leaving Neon to bring the controversial drama to audiences.
