More than 1 million migrants apply for Spain's mass regularisation

Spain's mass regularisation program for undocumented migrants has exceeded expectations on its final day. According to France 24, more than one million people submitted applications by today's deadline—roughly double the government's original estimate of five hundred thousand. Most applicants hail from Latin America. Launched in April by the left-wing government, the scheme defies Europe's broader crackdown on irregular immigration.
