Panoramic Photography with a Linear Scanner
tech
A creator known as Philo has developed a way to capture massive panoramic images using a linear scanner, a type of digital camera typically used to inspect assembly lines. As Hackaday tells it, the project evolved from a smartphone on a rotating chair to a system mounted on boats and railways. The setup uses custom software and accelerometer data to stabilize the images as the camera moves along the track, resulting in some of the longest panoramas ever captured.
