Meta considered buying Kalshi before developing its own prediction market app

According to NPR News, Meta considered acquiring Kalshi, a prediction market startup, when Mark Zuckerberg met with the company's leadership last year. But the talks stalled. Meta is now building its own prediction market app, opting to compete directly rather than consolidate through acquisition.
