The DeepMind trio who built a poker AI are now making money for quant hedge funds

Three former DeepMind researchers who built a poker-playing artificial intelligence have launched EquiLibre Technologies, an AI lab based in Prague. The company is now valued at more than five hundred million dollars. According to TechCrunch, the firm is working with quantitative hedge funds, representing an interesting shift of AI talent from research institutions into the finance sector.
