If you can't trust, then verify!

LessWrong notes that a new "Glass Perimeter" concept could let rival nations verify each other's AI activity without sharing secret data. The design uses optical splitters and fiber‑optic air gaps so that every model output is hashed and the hash sent to an independent verifier, while the underlying data never crosses electronic lines. Audits can be requested at any time, with the operator recreating the computation in a secure enclave to confirm the hash matches. The proposal remains in early development, with engineering work still required before it could be deployed.
