Announcing Trace

A new project called Trace, announced on LessWrong, is building a comprehensive database of AI safety funding. It currently tracks two point eight billion dollars in grants, spanning more than four thousand five hundred grants, over seven hundred funders, and one thousand eight hundred recipients, with records going back to two thousand three. The database includes rough estimates for figures that aren't publicly reported, and it's open to corrections and additions through an API and downloadable data.
