An exiled dissident’s wife returned to Russia for a visit. She’s now serving 10 days in jail — over a locked phone.

Elena Morgunova, the wife of exiled performance artist Pavel Krisevich, has been sentenced to ten days of administrative arrest in Russia. Meduza reports that Morgunova was detained on a bus in the Ryazan region after refusing to unlock her phone for police officers. She had recently returned to the country for a visit from France, where she and her husband have lived since late twenty twenty-five.
