Google has released Gemini three point one Flash Lite Image, its fastest and cheapest image generation model yet. According to tech writer Simon Willison, the model produces notably improved results compared to earlier versions. He tested it with a Where's Waldo style prompt featuring a raccoon holding a ham radio in a crowded woodland festival scene. The AI delivered a detailed, densely illustrated image—though it managed to misspell Forest Festival in two different ways, suggesting even the most optimized models can stumble on basic text.
