Controversial plans for a Daniel Andrews sculpture officially scrapped by Victorian government

Per The Guardian, the Victorian government has cancelled a proposed statue of former Labor premier Daniel Andrews after work began in May to commemorate his more than three thousand days in office. The one hundred thirty‑four thousand dollar cost of the sculpture had been sharply criticised by the Liberal opposition, leading officials to abandon the controversial plan.
