world

Nepal is confronting a mounting death toll following Wednesday's glacial lake flood near the China-Nepal border, with 626 confirmed dead and nearly three thousand still missing, The Guardian reports. Chinese authorities say the flood risk has eased as satellite images from Thursday morning show the lake, formed after a glacier collapse, gradually draining at the confluence of two rivers. Rescue workers and military personnel have been searching around the clock since the disaster struck.
