Screw this light bulb in and it serves banned books
tech
According to Boing Boing, developer Rick Osgood has transformed an ordinary smart light bulb into a hidden library. By reflashing the device's ESP32 chip, he created a custom WiFi access point that, when connected to, displays a captive portal offering access to banned ebooks. Using clever partitioning, Osgood carved out two megabytes of the bulb's flash storage for book storage and built a fully functional web server running entirely on the bulb's power. It's a small but inventive act of digital resistance—proving that in the fight against censorship, enlightenment really does come from the most unexpected places.
