Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the passport office at Karachi's Awami Markaz on Saturday and said the facility would be expanded for citizens' convenience, his ministry reports. According to the interior ministry, Naqvi spoke with applicants who said their passports were processed within minutes. The visit comes months after officials at that office were suspended over a foreign national receiving a Pakistani passport. Naqvi also toured Jinnah International Airport, where an immigration system malfunction prompted him to order immediate fixes and backup measures, the ministry said.
