Six months into the war, Iran's leadership has hardened around a core of military generals and clerics determined to prevent unrest at home, France 24 reports. That's a sharp contrast to President Trump's early hopes of toppling the Islamic Republic and his later claims that regime change had empowered more moderate officials. France 24 analyst Philip Turle estimates the war has cost around eleven hundred dollars per US taxpayer so far.
