25 Pakistanis return home after release from Indian jails via Wagah border

On Saturday, twenty five Pakistani fishermen were handed back to Pakistani authorities at the Wagah border after completing their detention in Indian prisons, Dawn reports. The Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi said the men, who hail from Karachi and Thatta, finished immigration formalities before being turned over to the Punjab Rangers. The Fishermen’s Cooperative Society welcomed their return and said the government would continue to press for the release of all remaining detainees. According to the latest figures, fifty three Pakistani fishermen remain imprisoned in India while one hundred ninety eight Indian fishermen are still held in Pakistan.
