A never-before-seen picture of eagle migrations

Phys.org reports that scientists have been tracking bird migration since 1899, when they used small rings with identifiers around birds' ankles. Today, GPS tags with solar panels and long-lasting batteries let researchers see every stage of a journey, turning migration from a theoretical range into an exact map. But even with this technology, the routes of many species in their flyways remain undescribed.
