Lawrence's fifty leaves Pakistan facing record chase to level England series
sports
Dawn reports that Dan Lawrence's unbeaten fifty has left Pakistan needing a record chase to level the series against England at Lord's. Only twenty-four and a half overs were possible on a rain-hit third day, but England still reached one hundred seventy-seven for seven, a lead of three hundred fifty-seven runs. Pakistan, dismissed for one hundred ten in their first innings, have never chased more than two hundred thirty-four against England in England, and the highest successful fourth-innings total at Lord's is West Indies' three hundred forty-four for one. Mohammad Abbas took three wickets for Pakistan, but the task ahead looks daunting.
