Turkiye, Somalia forces free cargo vessel hijacked by pirates

A joint operation by Turkish and Somali forces has freed a Cameroon-flagged cargo vessel that had been hijacked by pirates. Al Jazeera reports the ten-day mission ended with fourteen pirates killed, according to Somali authorities. Piracy off the Horn of Africa has repeatedly threatened shipping routes through the Gulf of Aden.
