Energy price cap rise ‘will push millions in Great Britain into fuel poverty’
business
From Wednesday, the UK's energy price cap rises by two hundred twenty pounds a year. According to The Guardian, the new annual cap is one thousand eight hundred sixty-two pounds. The increase will push thirteen point five million households into fuel poverty — defined as spending more than ten percent of income on energy — up from eleven point three million in April. The spike stems from volatility in global gas markets.
