Academy school leaders in England face pay cap to curb ‘banker-style’ salaries
politics
According to The Guardian, the era of academy school leaders in England receiving banker-style salaries is coming to an end. The government plans to introduce pay limits for executive leadership in academy trusts. The move comes after an investigation found that nearly a hundred academy chief executives earn more than two hundred thousand pounds annually, with at least one earning over five hundred thousand pounds. Only a quarter of these high-earning executives are women, and executive pay varies dramatically between trusts, from less than five pounds to more than one hundred fifty pounds per pupil.
