Pet owners at risk of being ripped off by private equity firms as vet ownership rules change

Pet owners may be at risk of paying higher prices as multinational private equity firms gain more anonymity in the veterinary market. The Guardian reports that the Competition and Markets Authority has removed requirements for these companies to disclose which local practices they own. This follows an investigation by the agency which found that a lack of transparency and competition had previously led to increased costs for customers.
