3 brothers killed, relative injured in IED blast in Balochistan's Duki: police

Three brothers were killed and a relative injured Sunday when their pick-up truck struck a remote-controlled IED while crossing a seasonal stream in Balochistan's Duki district, Dawn reports. Police said the group was headed to their agricultural land near Killi Bakhtair Khan when the blast, planted by unidentified attackers, destroyed the vehicle; the wounded relative was taken to the district hospital. As Dawn tells it, the attack fits a wider pattern of near-constant militant violence in Balochistan, where a monthly security assessment recorded the overall death toll more than tripling between June and July.
