Ireland has officially assumed the rotating presidency of the European Union. An opening ceremony at Dublin Castle gathered leaders from the twenty-seven member states, alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. During its six-month term, Ireland will oversee critical negotiations on additional sanctions against Russia and manage accession talks for Ukraine and Moldova—two central issues for the bloc's future. According to the Guardian, the ceremony took place at two in the afternoon.
