‘Othello’ Reimagined as a Black Lesbian in Royal Shakespeare Company’s New Production

The Royal Shakespeare Company is reimagining 'Othello,' according to Variety. Sharon D. Clarke takes the title role in a production that relocates Shakespeare's tragedy to a climate-threatened future, placing a Black lesbian at the center of military power. Director Monique Touko helms the production, which opens at the Swan Theatre on February thirteenth, twenty twenty-seven.
