Spain reels from historic heatwave as it records over 1,000 heat-related deaths in June
science
Spain is grappling with the deadliest heatwave in recent memory. According to France 24, more than one thousand deaths in the country were attributed to extreme heat in June alone—more than double the four hundred seven deaths recorded in June of twenty twenty-five. The country also posted its hottest first six months ever recorded. Scientists say such an extreme heatwave would have been virtually impossible without climate change. The deadly conditions underscore the accelerating human cost of global warming.
