EchoStar’s satellite TV and wireless subsidiaries file for bankruptcy

EchoStar, the satellite television provider, is restructuring through Chapter Eleven bankruptcy after abandoning its five-G wireless ambitions. According to SpaceNews, the company's subsidiaries are following a prepackaged restructuring plan designed to accelerate debt repayment using proceeds from spectrum sales to SpaceX and AT&T.
