According to George Weston, chief executive of Associated British Foods, the U-S cooking oil market is shrinking and may not recover soon. Weston told City analysts that his heaviest consumers—Hispanic households—are facing significant economic strain, compounded by immigration enforcement pressures. In response, they're shopping differently: buying online and reusing cooking oil rather than purchasing new bottles. The squeeze on Latino communities is directly translating into lower sales for Mazola.
