According to NASA News, the agency has selected a mission concept called DAPHNE — the Dynamic Atmosphere-Ionosphere Explorer — to study how space weather affects Earth's upper atmosphere. The mission aims to improve our ability to predict impacts on critical infrastructure like GPS and satellites, as well as protect astronauts in space. DAPHNE is now moving into Phase B of development, a key step toward potential launch.
