Makkah Defence Alliance to be institutionalised, Pakistan to head secretariat for 3 years: FO

Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkiye have agreed to formalize their security cooperation through the creation of the Makkah Defence Alliance. As Dawn tells it, the alliance will establish a secretariat in Saudi Arabia, which will be led by a secretary general from Pakistan for the first three years. The member nations intend to strengthen collective deterrence through joint technology development and defense industry cooperation. This pact, signed on August seventh, stipulates that an attack against one member state will be treated as an attack against all of them.
