According to Hackaday, while Linux developers have been streamlining the kernel by dropping support for outdated processors, enthusiasts have accomplished the opposite—successfully porting modern Linux to the 68008, a forty-year-old Motorola microprocessor. It's a remarkable feat of retro computing: coaxing contemporary Linux onto hardware the mainstream kernel abandoned long ago. A reminder that in open source, 'unsupported' doesn't mean 'impossible.'
