Astrophysicist Ray Jayawardhana is the new tenth president of the California Institute of Technology. Jayawardhana, selected in January, succeeds Thomas Rosenbaum as the holder of the Sonja and William Davidow Presidential Chair and professor of astronomy. According to NASA News, Caltech, founded in eighteen ninety-one, continues its scientific mission under his leadership.
