At least 3.3m people were victims of Dutch enslavement, research claims
world
New research suggests the Netherlands enslaved far more people than previously documented. According to The Guardian, at least three point three million people were victims of Dutch enslavement during the transatlantic slave trade — more than five times the six hundred thousand figure widely cited in history books and referenced by King Willem-Alexander in his apology three years ago. The finding raises significant questions about how historical records have portrayed the scale and impact of Dutch involvement in slavery.
