According to Variety, Mel Gibson's biblical drama 'The Passion of the Christ' is returning to theaters starting September tenth, newly remastered in four-K with Dolby Atmos sound. The theatrical re-release comes ahead of the twenty twenty-seven sequel 'The Resurrection of the Christ: Part One,' distributed by Lionsgate and Fathom Entertainment.
