Teachers in England get two-year 6.6% pay rise but schools to foot part of bill

England's teachers will receive a three point five percent pay rise in September, followed by another three percent next year. The government has accepted recommendations from the School Teachers' Review Body and will provide additional funding to cover most—but not all—of the cost. According to The Guardian, unions welcome the increase but worry that schools will need to cover nearly a third of the bill from their own budgets.
