As capital goes back to normal, Niger downplays soldiers' mutiny

The uprising was quelled by the Nigerien army working with the Russian paramilitary group Africa Corps. The following day, Algeria dispatched four fighter jets and two additional aircraft, a move described as unexpected given its long‑standing non‑intervention stance. The deployment signals an unusual step as Algeria’s military cooperation with Nigeria has recently been revived.
