[$] A pause for the Python JIT

The Python steering council has announced a pause on new development for the experimental just-in-time compiler in the main branch of CPython, allowing only for security and bug fixes. Per LWN.net, this freeze remains in place until a Python Enhancement Proposal is accepted to establish the JIT compiler as a supported feature. A proposal known as PEP eight hundred thirty-six is currently under discussion to determine the path forward for the technology.
