Seven more sentenced to prison over protest outside Texas detention center

According to the Guardian World, seven more people were sentenced Wednesday to prison for their roles in a shooting outside a Texas immigration detention center. The incident took place at the Prairieland detention center near Dallas. Among those sentenced was Ines Soto, who received a fifty-year prison term—matching the sentence given to her wife Elizabeth. The remaining defendants were sentenced to between two and fifteen years in prison. The shooting wounded a police officer, and most of the defendants pleaded guilty to charges related to the incident.
