Actress Daveigh Chase has died. According to Channel NewsAsia, medical examiners determined that she died of AIDS. Chase was known for her starring role in the horror film The Ring as the character Samara—a performance that earned her an MTV Movie Award for best villain. She also contributed her voice to Disney's Lilo and Stitch, having auditioned for the animated film at just eight years old.
