Safety Zones; Northern California and Lake Tahoe Area Annual Fireworks Events

The Coast Guard is establishing safety zones for fireworks events in Northern California and around Lake Tahoe, according to a notice posted to the Federal Register today. Unauthorized vessels and persons are prohibited from entering these regulated areas during the displays—they're protecting people, boats, and the marine environment from fireworks hazards. If you're planning to be on the water near these areas over the holiday, you'll need to steer clear.
